Mastering the Art of Candle Care: Essential Tips for Efficient Burning

  • Trim Your Wick: Before lighting your candle, always trim the wick to about a quarter of an inch. This helps prevent excessive flickering, smoking, and uneven burning. A trimmed wick ensures a clean and steady flame, allowing the wax to melt evenly.


  • The First Burn Matters: When lighting your candle for the first time, let it burn until the wax pool reaches the edges of the container. This could take a couple of hours, depending on the size of the candle. This initial burn sets the memory for future burns and helps prevent tunneling, where the wax burns down the center, leaving wax along the sides.


  • Avoid Drafts: Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts. Drafts can cause uneven burning and can make the flame flicker excessively, leading to soot formation. A stable environment ensures a consistent burn throughout the life of your candle.
